It has been another great year for the club with further strides made by our Open Age side surpassing all expectations in their first season at SCL. To reach the play-offs at the first attempt in what is the highest tier you can play down here at amateur level was a superb effort and everybody associated with that group should feel immensely proud of their achievements.

We have also seen the formation of a women's team and our Youth, Junior and Primary sections continue to flourish. As a club we always pride ourselves in that we have such a great pathway within our club and that is something we will always strive for.
It would be remiss however to ignore the work that goes on behind the scenes, so a big thank you to the committee, coaches and volunteers who really are the backbone of our club.

Every year we now award the 'Dee Horsman trophy' to an individual who has gone that extra mile during the season or has consistently stepped-up and made a difference to our club. It is a very special award and it is always a difficult choice for me to select a recipient. This year was just as difficult with people like Jamie Impey, Shaun Baxter and John Issacs doing some amazing work behind the scenes.

This year however I've awarded the trophy to somebody who has pretty much worked in every role for this club, is a great sounding board and also a real voice of reason. I know my late wife would have been happy with the choice. The Dee Horsman trophy winner for 2022 is Mark Baker.

Congratulations Mark, its well deserved.
